At Wider Ambition, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all the students in our care. We provide a caring, positive, safe, and educationally stimulating environment where students are respected and valued. Everyone who comes into contact with our students has a role in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking prompt action.
We ensure that all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors understand their roles and responsibilities surrounding safeguarding and identifying and responding to signs of abuse and neglect.
When a concern is identified, we follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. Our Safeguarding Policy reflects our statutory responsibilities, Government guidance and best practice.
We discuss concerns raised about students with their parents or carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the student’s welfare. Confidential, detailed and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored.
For more details please refer to our Safeguarding Policy.
If you have reason to believe that a child or young person is at immediate risk from harm contact the police on 999.
If, as a member of the public, you have any concerns about a particular child or young person and feel that they may be in need of protection or safeguarding, you should contact the Worcestershire County Council Family Front Door.
We operate a rigorous safer recruitment policy for both staff and volunteers, prioritising the safeguarding of our students at all times.
If you have any concerns about a student’s welfare, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead. Contact details can be found in our Safeguarding Policy.
